  • Jordan Farrell was the recipient of the department's James E. Dornan Award, given to the most distinguished graduating politics major. The award is given in honor of Professor James Dornan, a former chair of the department who passed away in an automobile accident in 1979.
  • Sophia Marsden was given the department's Joseph A. Amoddio Award for Excellence in Public Affairs, awarded to a graduating politics major in recognition of outstanding public service, civic responsibility, and academic excellence. The award is named after Joseph Amoddio, a politics major who passed away in 1996, not long after his graduation from Catholic University.
  • Over two dozen politics seniors were admitted to Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honors society. They were honored at a dinner event that featured a talk by Department Chairman Matthew Green. 042722-pi-sigma-honor-society-011.jpg
  • Ten seniors were elected to the university's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. One of them, Amanda Robles, was given the prestigious Monsignor Campbell Award for best exemplifying the ideals of Phi Beta Kappa.
  • Recipients of the intelligence studies certificate (which included many politics majors) were honored in an event hosted by Dr. Nicholas Dujmovic, director of the intelligence program and a politics faculty member.
