The Catholic University of America is host to the Mu Theta chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. Hundreds of CUA degree recipients have been inducted into the chapter since its founding in 1981. To qualify, a student must have a sufficiently high GPA and have completed a certain number of credits in political science coursework. The department traditionally hosts an end-of-year event for new inductees featuring a key note address by a scholar or prominent public figure in the field of politics.
