An Ideal Place to Study Politics
Ours is a Department of Politics reflecting our appreciation of the cultural, historical, ethical, and theoretical foundations of political order.
While actively engaging the methods and issues of social science, the department recognizes that the complexity of political life and values cannot be reduced to science alone. Rather, courses also address the dignity of the person and the rich web of social life, consistent with the Catholic tradition that gave birth to the University. This is also reflected in the sense of community among students and with the professors. Faculty are actively engaged in research and the department boasts a distinguished Ph.D. program, yet undergraduates enjoy small classes and accessible professors.
