Join us for a conversation with Archbishop Silvano Maria Tomasi, the Holy See's Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. Archbishop Tomasi will talk with us about Pope Francis' and the Church's efforts toward nuclear disarmament, Laudato Si, and the Church's work on integral human development. Archbishop Tomasi has served previously as permanent observer to the Office of the United Nations and Specialized Agencies in Geneva, Archbishop and Apostolic Nuncio to Ethiopia and Eritrea, Apostolic Nuncio to Djibouti, and Observer to the African Union. He also served as secretary of the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People, and was the first Director of the Office of Migrants and Refugees of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He was Co-Founder of the Center for Migration Studies, and of The International Migration Review. Archbishop Tomasi earned his Ph.D. in sociology from Fordham University.
